The third-ranked Abilene High Eagles take on the Mansfield Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Friday in a Class 5A Division II bi-district playoff game at Tarleton Memorial Stadium in Stephenville. The Eagles are the playoffs for the 10th year in a row, while Mansfield is making just the eighth postseason appearance in its history. Abilene High is one victory away from becoming the 18th school in Texas high school football history to win 600 games.
The Abilene High Eagles clinched the District 3-5A championship Friday with a 20-10 victory at North Crowley. The Eagles finished the regular season 10-0 for just the sixth time in school history. Abilene High enters the playoffs as 3-5A's No. 1 seed in Division II and will meet Mansfield at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Tarleton Memorial Stadium in the bi-district round.
